What Is Counselling?

Counselling is a therapeutic process that provides a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges.

Whether you're facing stress, grief, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions, counselling helps you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and work toward healing and self-discovery.

Through my sessions, you’ll gain robust tools, practical knowledge and guided experiences to help anchor you through difficulties and empower you to pursue change and become a more honest and authentic version of yourself. As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I believe if you can change your thoughts, you can change your world. I seek to give you the tools to ultimately be your own therapist to ensure long term sustainable change.

1:1 Counselling Sessions$200 + GST per hour 

  • Available in-person or online to suit your needs.

  • A fully confidential, judgment-free space.

  • Founded on ethical and evidence-based counselling practices.

What to Expect in Your First Session

I understand that starting counselling can feel overwhelming. That’s why your first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding your needs.

You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, and together, we’ll outline a plan that best supports you.

Confidentiality & Ethical Practice

I am a Provisional Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

Your privacy is my priority, and everything discussed remains strictly confidential, except in cases where there is an imminent risk to your safety or the safety of other.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your unique situation. Typically:

  • Weekly or fortnightly sessions work best for deeper emotional work.

  • Sessions can be spaced out over time as you progress and build resilience.

  • Some clients choose to have occasional check-ins to maintain long-term change.
